Fall Party
Our fall party will be at 2:00 on Friday, October 30. Costumes may be worn for the party and regular clothing worn to school. We will change into costumes at 1:45. The costume should be a simple costume that your child can put on over their clothing and should not include any type of weapon. Please save make-up, face paint, or hair dye for evening trick or treating with your family. Students are welcome to bring wrapped store-bought treats to pass out to their classmates at the end of the party. We have 20 students in our class.
Picture Day
Individual pictures will be taken the morning of October 22. All students will have their picture taken regardless of whether individual portraits are ordered. If you wish to purchase a class composite select package Z on the order form.
Raz-Kids
Information is being sent home regarding the Raz-Kids site which can be used for practicing reading books at just the right instructional level. We will be using Raz-Kids in the classroom and computer lab. I encourage you to have your child log on at home. It can be difficult to find books at beginning reading levels and this website is a great resource for early reading.
Book-It
Pizza Hut Book-It forms were sent home at the beginning of October. Log time spent reading or listening to reading at home and return the form at the end of the month for a certificate earning a free personal pizza from Pizza Hut. This program runs through March. Happy Reading!!!
Look for a "Just Right" book to come home in the Friday homework folder this week for reading practice at home. We have been busy working in small group reading meetings. Your cooperation in returning the books promptly each week is appreciated.
I-Pad Apps
We are currently using the following I-Pad apps for practice of skills in the classroom.
- ABC Genius
- Sky Fish Phonics
