Our valentine party will be on Wednesday, February 10 from 9-10:30 AM. If you signed up at the beginning of the year to help or donate you will be contacted shortly. If you did not sign up and would like to help please send an email and I will pass the information on to Elijah's mom who is coordinating our party.
I ask that EVERY student create a valentine box at home and send it to school by Monday, Feb. 8th. The boxes should be large enough to hold cards and treats with an opening large enough to fit your hand in. I ask that cards or treats be signed with your child's name but NOT addressed to individual students. This makes delivering much easier!!! We have 19 students in our class. Have fun creating!
Our party is early this year due to conferences and the 100th day of school falling on Feb. 15th. Can you believe we are approaching the 100th day? It is always fun to celebrate that milestone in kindergarten.

Learning
Although the break from school was nice it has been great to get back into the routine of school. As I am checking progress on beginning reading skills it is great to see all the progress we have made. I hope you had the opportunity to listen to your child read the "just right" book from their homework folder. We have been learning to write informational how to books. Some of the topics students have chosen to write about include: How To Ice Skate, How to Play on a Tablet, How to Bake Cookies, and How to Ride a Bike. As we finish up our shape unit in math we are learning all about 3-D shapes. The kids have also enjoyed playing with their friends during centers and recess. Please take a moment to enjoy the photos below of our first week of school in 2016.
